RPCVHI will participate in the parade and will have a booth at the Kapiolani Park and we are inviting you all to come march with us.
We are encouraging ALL RPCVs, their families, friends, and all supporters of what Peace Corps and Martin Luther King stand for to march in the parade and participate in the unity rally celebration. We need to represent now more than ever.
The parade begins at Magic Island with the formation of organizations at 7:30 a.m., then moves out at 9:00 a.m., traveling on Kalakaua Avenue through Waikiki to Kapiolani Park. It is culminated with a unity rally celebration, which includes food, community booths, and camaraderie.
MEETING AT MAGIC ISLAND
TIME: We are meeting at 7:30 a.m. The march from Magic Island to Kapiolani Park will begin at 9:00 am.
WHERE: Tennis courts at Magic Island near McCoy Pavilion
Look for the Peace Corps and RPCVHI banners!
RPCVHI members will be at this location with some coffee and donuts.
BRING/WEAR: Peace Corps shirt OR a clothing representing their country of service, sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable clothes for walking 3.1 miles, your water bottle.
BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY, TOO.
KAPIOLANI PARK AFTER THE MARCH
We will have a vendor booth at Kapiolani Park. Set up will begin at 7:30 on Monday, Jan. 16.
The booth will have Peace Corps Promotional literature and information on our RPCVHI Aloha Grants.
This will be the meet up point at the end of the march.
